Instructions for playing pure Battlin' Boxer - Part 3

Battlin' Boxer is a card race that debuted in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal is used by the character Alito, one of the seven Barian emperors. Battlin' Boxer has a gameplay style of spamming strong xyz monsters and using these warriors' ATK to win.

Battlin' Boxer core analysis

Regarding Battlin' Boxer's new support monsters, the new monsters all bring changes to the deck and become key monsters in combos. All four cards Promoter , Uppercutter , Chief Second , and King Dempsey appear in the deck's combos. These monsters are considered to be played in the maximum number possible in the deck.

If your opponent controls a monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can Tribute this card; Special Summon up to 2 "Battlin' Boxer" monsters with different names from your Deck, except "Battlin' Boxer Promoter". You can banish this card from your GY; increase or decrease the Levels of all "Battlin' Boxer" monsters you currently control by 1. You can only use each effect of "Battlin' Boxer Promoter" once per turn, also you cannot Special Summon monsters during the turn you activate any of this card's effects, except "Battlin' Boxer" monsters.

Promoter can summon up to 2 Battlin' Boxer monsters with different names from the deck, which is the start of combos that help you summon King Dempsey .

In addition, you can also remove Promoter from the grave (cost) to adjust the level of Battlin' Boxer monsters on your field to 3 or 5. This is the fastest way to help you summon Number C79 or sometimes Cheat Commissioner .

When there is a monster on the opponent's field, Promoter can special summon from the hand. This effect is quite useful when following to help you not lose the normal summon during the turn.

When you activate any of Promoter 's effects, you cannot special summon monsters for the entire turn, except Battlin' Boxer.

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Battlin' Boxer" monster or 1 "Counter" Counter Trap from your Deck to your hand, except "Battlin' Boxer Uppercutter". If this card is sent to the GY by card effect: You can activate 1 of these effects; ● Special Summon 1 "Battlin' Boxer" monster from your GY, except "Battlin’ Boxer Uppercutter". ● Set 1 "Counter" Counter Trap from your GY to your field. You can only use 1 "Battlin' Boxer Uppercutter" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Uppercutter has 2 effects: 1 to help search, 1 to help restore inventory, each effect can be used depending on whether this monster is on the field or in the grave.

One thing to note is that you can only choose between searching or retrieving goods during that turn with Uppercutter .

Some ways to trigger Uppercutter 's search effect are:

  • Double Summon this card equal to Chief Second .
  • Summon straight from the deck with Promoter .
  • Revive this card from the grave with Switchitter , Battlin' Boxing Spirits , or Number 79 .

If you want to use Uppercutter 's grave effect, you can:

  • Send this card from the Deck to the Graveyard with King Dempsey , Headgeared when these monsters are normal or special summoned.
  • King Dempsey (using quick effect), Shadow (summoned from hand using this monster's effect), Lead Yoke (when using protection effect), or Number C79 (when using quick effect) can use this effect. Their response to send Uppercutter being xyz material to the grave.

During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 "Battlin' Boxer" monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) When an opponent's monster declares an attack, while you control a Warrior or FIRE monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, negate that attack, then banish 1 monster on the field until the End Phase. You can only use this effect of "Battlin' Boxer Chief Second" once per turn.

Chief Second brings the Double Summon effect specifically for Battlin' Boxer and can also be considered another extender that can replace Sparrer , sometimes more useful. This monster also appears in most deck combos.

This monster's protection effect during the Battle Phase is not too bad. You can use this effect to protect 1 of your Battlin' Boxer monsters or use it to defend against an attack from an opponent's monster.

Although Switchitter and Headgeared are no longer the main targets for normal summoning during turns, these monsters still occasionally appear in some combos of the deck. Note that their effects are only used when they are normally summoned.

You cannot special summon monsters other than Battlin' Boxer during the same turn you use Switchitter 's effect.

(Quick Effect): You can detach 1 material from a monster you control, and if you do, apply the following effect. ● Your opponent cannot target "Battlin' Boxer" monsters you control with card effects for the rest of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Battlin' Boxer King Dempsey" once per turn.

King Dempsey is a monster that can be considered a combination of Uppercutter , Headgeared , and Lead Yoke . This is the monster summoned in most deck combos.

This card can also search for spells/traps of the deck ( Battlin' Boxing Spirits , Battlin' Boxing Cross Counter ).

This monster does not require being summoned to xyz to use the first effect, so you can also use Switchitter , Uppercutter or Battlin' Boxing Spirits to re-summon King Dempsey from the grave and use the search effect. of this card.

If this card has "Number 79: Battlin' Boxer Nova Kaiser" as material, it gains this effect. ● Once per turn, when an attack is declared involving your "Battlin' Boxer" monster and an opponent's monster: You can send 1 "Battlin' Boxer" monster from your hand or Deck to the GY, and if you do, attach that opponent's monster to this card as material.

xyz materials when detached by cards like Shadow , King Dempsey , Lead Yoke , Number C79 are counted as effects, so when Uppercutter is sent to the grave by these cards, it will be able to trigger the effect when it goes to the grave. .

If Glassjaw is detached with Shadow , Glassjaw can use the effect from his grave because the actions performed during Shadow 's effect are coincidentally at the same time, Glassjaw will not miss the timing in this situation. Same case for King Dempsey and Number C79 (activate quick effect in chain link 1), Lead Yoke (when protecting kill by battle or kill effect in chain link 1), don't forget the ATK increase effect of Lead Yoke is a trigger effect that must be chained before Glassjaw .

When your opponent activates a monster effect: Destroy 1 "Battlin' Boxer" or "Number" Xyz Monster you control, and if you do, negate the activation, and if you do that, destroy that monster, then you can apply the following effect. ● Special Summon 1 "Battlin' Boxer" Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck with a different name than the first monster, and if you do, attach this card to it as material. You can only activate 1 "Battlin' Boxing Cross Counter" per turn.

Cross Counter is the new counter trap support for Battlin' Boxer, this card can be taken from the deck to hand with Uppercutter or King Dempsey . In addition, Uppercutter can also help you retrieve this card from the grave.

You will not be able to summon the xyz Battlin' Boxer monster from the extra deck if you cannot successfully destroy the monster with its effect disabled.

Another thing is that monsters summoned by Cross Counter will not be counted as xyz summons, so Switchitter and Uppercutter cannot help you revive them in these situations.

To activate this card, you must draw it for your normal draw in your Draw Phase, reveal it, and keep it revealed until the start of Main Phase 1. At the start of your Main Phase 1 that same turn, you can: Special Summon, from your Extra Deck or Graveyard, 1 monster that has a number between "Number 101" and "Number 107" in its name, except "Number C" monsters, then Xyz Summon, from your Extra Deck, 1 "Number C" monster with the same number in its name as the first monster, by using it as the Xyz Material. You can only apply the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic - The Seventh One" once per Duel.

(This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to that target also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.)

If you want to experience the feeling of being defeated when summoning Number 105 and Number C105 then you can use Rank-Up-Magic – The Seventh One . Having to draw this card in the Draw Phase is difficult, but using it is extremely cool.

You can rank up from Number 79 to Number C79 with Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos to be able to use Number C79 's maximum potential. Sometimes when you can't have 3 level 5 monsters in your combo, Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos has a chance to show up. Furthermore, Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos is also a card with the ability to jump scare Number C79 up to 4 materials during the opponent's turn.

Seventh Force (An equally interesting card)

              Spell Quick
              Seventh Force

During the Battle Phase, if a monster(s) is destroyed by battle or card effect: Target 1 "Number" Xyz Monster in your GY; Special Summon from your Extra Deck 1 "Number C" monster with the same Type but 1 Rank higher, and if you do, attach that monster to it as material, then, if you Special Summoned a "Number C" monster with a number between "101" and "107" in its name, you can add 1 "Seventh" or "Barian's" Spell/Trap, or 1 "Rank-Up-Magic" Quick-Play Spell, except "Seventh Force", from your Deck to your hand.

Seventh Force is also a card that has the ability to summon 1 Number C from your extra deck.

The requirements to use this card are relatively difficult, you can only activate this card during the Battle Phase and after a monster is destroyed by battle or effect.

Target 1 xyz Number monster in your grave, summon 1 Number C monster from an extra deck of the same type but 1 rank higher, then insert the target monster in the grave as material for the summoned Number C monster. After summoning, if the monster you summoned is from Number 101 to 107, you can add 1 Seventh or Barian's spell/trap or 1 quick-play spell Rank-Up-Magic card from your Deck to your hand (except Seventh Force ).

The easiest way to activate this card is during your Battle Phase. You will be the one to actively use the monster to attack, then activate Seventh Force from your hand. This card does not matter which side's monster is destroyed, so you can use your low ATK monsters to attack.

Number 79 is a monster that could not be more suitable when combined with Seventh Force to overcome giant ATK monsters. As a generic xyz 4 monster that requires 2 materials, Number 79 is the Number monster that is most likely to be summoned in most combos instead of Number 105 .

You need to set up 2 Number 79 monsters on the field. Use your 1 Number 79 to attack your opponent's monster with greater ATK.

Number 79, when destroyed in battle, can trigger effects from the grave, target and summon a number of level 4 or lower Battlin' Boxer monsters from the grave, usually 2 because this monster's xyz materials are rarely used. used, sometimes 3 because Number 79 also has the ability to stuff xyz ingredients into its body.

After activating Number 79 's trigger effect, you can chain into Seventh Force , targeting the Number 79 monster that is activating the effect.

The monster summoned to the field is Number C105 , Number 79 in the grave will become the material for this monster. Then take Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos from your deck to your hand.

Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos is the card that helps Number C79 take advantage of the full power of this monster, ranking up the remaining Number 79 on the field to Number C79 .

When there is an attack involving a Battlin' Boxer monster, Number C79 if there is Number 79 as material can activate this effect, send 1 Battlin' Boxer monster from the hand or Deck to the Graveyard and transform the monster in that battle the opponent uses material for this monster.

A way that can help you overcome the opponent's large ATK monsters since Battlin' Boxer doesn't have too many bombardment effects. If Number C79 sends Uppercutter to the grave with that effect, then in that turn's Battle Phase, you have revived up to 3 or all 4 Battlin' Boxer monsters from the grave!

If your opponent controls a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck: You can banish this card from your GY and send 1 "Rank-Up-Magic" Spell from your hand to the GY; this effect becomes that Spell's effect when that card is activated. You can only use each effect of "Seventh Ascension" once per turn.

All three Rank-Up-Magic cards – The Seventh One , Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos , Seventh Force can be taken from the deck into the hand or placed on the top deck thanks to Seventh Ascension .

Not only that, you can also use the effect of Rank-Up-Magic – The Seventh One without having to draw this card with Draw Phase. If your opponent controls a summoned monster from the extra deck, you can remove Seventh Ascension from the grave and send 1 Rank-Up-Magic spell card from your hand to the grave (cost), this effect of Seventh Ascension will change to the effect of that Rank-Up-Magic card when activated.

Each effect of Seventh Ascension can only be used once per turn.
