A quick guide to the Bystial/Byssted archetype

Bystial (Byssted) is an archetype introduced in Darkwing Blast that continues the Albaz story line. Bystial is a card race that includes Dragon monsters of the LIGHT and DARK types. These monsters can be special summoned from the hand by removing 1 LIGHT or DARK monster from the player's grave. In addition, Darkwing Blast also releases Branded spell/trap cards to specifically support Bystial.

Lubellion is Bystial's searcher. By sending this monster from your hand to the grave, you can add 1 Bystial monster from your deck to your hand (except Lubellion ).

While Lubellion is in the hand or grave, this monster can be summoned (without chaining) back to the field by sacrificing a level 6 or higher DARK Dragon monster.

In addition, this monster can also activate effects while on the field, allowing you to place 1 Branded permanent spell/trap from the deck directly onto the field.

Each of Lubellion 's effects can only be used once/turn and Lubellion can only be summoned once/turn.

Lubellion is a LIGHT-type Bystial monster, level 6, different from most of the remaining Bystials (DARK-type, level 6), in addition, this monster also has another difference: it cannot be normally summoned.

Lubellion 's effects and the ability to summon itself from the grave make this monster perfect for taking advantage of Lubellion from the hand, on the field, and in the grave. You can target 1 LIGHT or DARK monster in either GY; banish it, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your hand. This is a Quick Effect if your opponent controls a monster. If this card is Special Summoned: You can activate this effect; during the End Phase of this turn, add 1 Dragon monster from your Deck or GY to your hand, except "Bystial Magnamhut". You can only use each effect of "Bystial Magnamhut" once per turn.


The level 6 Bystial DARK monsters in the current archetype share an ability that allows them to be summoned from the hand.

You can activate these monsters' effects from your hand by targeting a LIGHT or DARK monster in either player's grave, discarding that targeted monster, and summoning this monster to the field.

This is an ignition effect that can only be activated during the main phase of your turn, but if your opponent controls a monster, these effects will turn into quick effects.

Normally, each Bystial monster has 1 effect that can help it summon itself to the field and 1 unique effect for each monster, each effect can only be used once/turn with monsters of the same name.

If Magnamhut is special summoned, you can add 1 Dragon monster from your deck or card to your hand (except Magnamhut ) at the end of the turn this monster is summoned. Magnamhut is a monster that allows Bystial to be played in many decks with other Dragon monsters to create more follow ups for the next turn, especially Dragon Link after the hit from the list of losing Halqifibrax and Chaotic Ruler , 2 monsters Important in the combo of this deck.

Druiswurm, if sent from the field to the grave, can trigger an effect to send 1 opponent's specially summoned monster to the grave (target). Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand or GY) by Tributing 2 "Bystial" monsters. While this card, Summoned this way, is in the Monster Zone, negate the effects of all face-up Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Link Monsters on the field. If your opponent uses an effect and causes your Alba Los to leave the field, both players must remove all monsters in their extra deck until the end of their opponent's next phase.

    Branded Regained is a continuous spell with effects that help you restore discarded monsters with Bystials as well as the ability to revive Bystials from the grave.

    Specifically, when Branded Regained is on the field, this card can trigger effects when a LIGHT or DARK monster is removed. You can target 1 of them, place it on the bottom deck and draw 1 card. This effect of Branded Regained can only be used once per turn. You can use this effect to return discarded monsters to summons by Bystial monsters.

    In addition, Branded Regained can also revive Bystial monsters from the grave. If your opponent normal/special summons a monster, you can target and special summon 1 Bystial monster from the Graveyard to the field. This effect of Branded Regained is limited to 1 time per turn per copy of this card, so you can use this effect multiple times if you have many different Branded Regaineds , but only 1 Branded Regained is allowed.       Once per turn, during the Main Phase, if you control a "Bystial" monster: You can Tribute 1 Dragon monster, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. During the End Phase: You can target 1 "Branded" Continuous Spell/Trap in your GY; place it face-up on your field. You can only use this effect of "Branded Beast" once per turn.


      Branded Beast is a permanent trap card that supports Bystial. When you control a Bystial monster, you can Tribute 1 Dragon monster to destroy 1 card on your opponent's field (target). At each end phase, you can target 1 Branded permanent spell/trap in your Graveyard and place that card on the field. Each Branded Beast effect can only be used once per turn.

      Thanks to Lubellion , Branded Regained and Branded Beast can be used more, especially Branded Beast can be used immediately without having to set it face down and wait for activation like normal trap cards. Bystial monsters like Druiswurm or Saronir can utilize Branded Beast to trigger their effects. Additionally, Branded Beast can pull Branded Regained from the grave (sent from the deck to the grave thanks to Saronir ).

                          Bystial is not completely immortal, the deck still has a few weaknesses that are difficult to overcome.

                          Bystial monsters are difficult to summon normally. The existing Bystial monsters are all level 6, which means that if they cannot activate their effects, the only way is to normal summon from the hand, but with the current meta, summoning sacrifices 1 Bystial beasts are not an easy thing.

                          Bystial only affects LIGHT and DARK monsters in the grave, using decks that don't have many LIGHT or DARK monsters in the grave can make things difficult for Bystial, making it difficult for them to play during your turn and forcing them to play on their own. Use your own resources to summon to the field.

                          Bystial can only be summoned from your hand during your turn if you control a monster.
